We design, manufacture and sell high-performance optical subsystems that enable transmission, reception and switching functionality for high-bandwidth, intelligent optical networking applications for use in telecommunications and cable TV network systems.Essential Functions
- Obtain quotes for cost and lead-times.
- Creat PO's for materials and supplies.
- Send PO's to suppliers by email or fax.
- Progress deliveries and chase late suppliers.
- Monitor stock levels and re-order consumables.
- Create and process Purchase Orders in Oracle.
- Fax/Send PO's to suppliers.
- Monitoring the progress of deliveries against PO's, reporting delays.
- Chase late deliveries from suppliers.
- Monitoring of minimum stock levels and ordering of manufacturing consumables.
- Materials inventory control in Oracle.
- Stock level and inventory audits
- Evaluate quotations and liaise with suppliers on cost, delivery and quality.
- Participate in regular, formal liaison with other procurement staff and customers to ensure pro-active purchasing.
- Assist Oracle users with and Requisition or Purchase Related issues.
- Report on KPI's from measurement of performance of suppliers.
- Create and maintain supplier files.
- Manage allocated suppliers
- Perform other duties as may be directed by the Company.
Qualifications
- Purchasing administration in a manufacturing environment using ERP systems.
- Knowledge of and experience with the use of part numbering, revision, batch and serial number systems.
- User experience of Oracle or SAP purchasing and finance modules.
- BPICS accredited training in materials control or purchasing.
- Computer literacy - integrated system.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Experience in sourcing products from International Suppliers.
- HSC and/ or Formal Purchasing Materials Management qualification or equivalent.
