Sr. Global Demand Planner

Sr. Global Demand Planner is responsible for understanding the business requirements and technology capabilities (current and future) within Finisar and Supply Chain to develop and design processes, tools and business rules that optimize planning and execution to achieve superb product fill rate, while minimizing EOL scrap.  This person will team up with Sales & Marketing to be the global forecast owner and proactively seek to resolve all supply/demand issues as well as providing guidelines, early alert/warning and recommendations to the management.  He or she will be responsible for global inventory positioning to ensure right product at the right place at the right time.  Last but not the least, this person will drive both unconstraint and constraint demand plan for downstream supply chain to fulfill business requirements.

·        Develop different forecast and inventory strategies and analyze supply chain information to ensure build plan attainment, inventory turns and superb customer service level (on time ship complete), low end of life scrap and logistics costs

·        Manage the creation and execution of accurate and timely forecast and demand plan/build plan to downstream manufacturing partners/facilities for both NPI and sustaining business and inventory guidelines

·        Owns relationship with Sales & Marketing and provides closed loop feedback regarding forecast trends and accuracy

·        Drive the evolution of S&OP process

·        Define, evaluate and implement critical planning system requirements and strategies (i.e. Oracle Advance Planning System & Demantra)

·        Develop key metrics and measurement for senior management to facilitate effective decision making.  Be the “head light” of the company relating to demand supply issues

·        Conduct weekly and monthly business review meetings to seek management buy-in for the forecast and demand plan for both constraint and unconstraint plans

·        7+ years of experience in supply chain, demand planning, inventory management, with strong analytical and problem solving skills in high growth organization with minimum 3+ years in global product planning

·        BA/BS degree

·        Proven track record in inventory optimization and running S&OP meetings

·        Oracle Planning and Demantra experience strongly recommended

·        Excellent verbal and written communications skill are required

·        Able to gather and interpret data to identify trends, patterns and provide recommendations

·        APICS certification preferred

·        Optics experience a plus

·        Good Partnership skill, ability to partner with key stakeholders to meet objectives

·        Ability to develop and maintain good customer relations

·        Demonstrate ability to formulate action plans quickly and implement solutions effectively

·        Excellent Excel and Access skill (complex formulas and modeling capability)
